YEAR OF THUNDER
We are a Finnish racing team competing in the Finnish and Swedish V8 Thunder Car Championships. Based in Finland, the team’s competitive ambition reaches across the racetracks of northern Europe.
Founded in 2003, DCR Motorsport has competed in variety of classes and motorsport disciplines over the last 22 years. With this strong foundation, we’re finding our footing in one of Northern Europe’s top circuit racing classes – V8 Thunder Cars.
This will be, the year of thunder.
“UNFINISHED BUSINESS”
Car number #181 – Kaj Erik Kytönen. His competition history stretches back 22 years after entering the sport at the age of 5. His career has included participation in national level karting, touring cars, open GT and stock car racing.
Kaj Erik made his debut in the Finnish V8 Thunder championship in 2023 by scoring pole in his first ever race meeting – after just a couple of testing days of experience with the new car. Unfortunately, he was taken out in the race heat, leading into extensive damage to the #181 Mercedes Benz, which forced the team to forfeit the next season.
Kaj Erik – and DCR Motorsport have some unfinished business.
